Thanks for joining me!
Ever wonder what it would be like living abroad? What it’s like learning a new language? Making local friends? Adjusting to new cultures and customs?
Here’s where I come in.
For the next 365 days, I will be sharing my stories as a foreigner abroad. I want to share the good times and the bad, and give some perspective on the experience of an immigrant from the United States.
About me:
My name is Jordan, I am originally from Virginia and I am a registered nurse. A couple years ago I decided to go back to school to earn a double masters in Business and Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. This is where my life changed forever.
A year into the masters program, I decided I was interested in pursuing entrepreneurship and I applied for an internship at a Spanish healthcare startup that was temporarily in Baltimore for an accelerator program. The work was exciting, fresh, and unlike anything I had ever done before as a nurse. After some time working for the company, I fell in love (insert “aww” and/or eye-roll here) and I landed in Spain.
I have been living in Madrid on and off for 2 years now (with some short stints in Berlin and Philadelphia), and I’m looking forward to sharing the adventures as I keep trying to find my way in this new and exciting (sometimes scary) life abroad!
One thing is for sure, by the end of the 365 days, I’m sure that you’ll agree that this beautiful world of our’s is a lot smaller than we think.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
See you next time!
